We were returning from a day hike into the Sixty Lakes Basin. We were blitzing down the trail on the descent back to our camp at Rae Lakes. As we were descending, I saw the Painted Lady rising above the ridge and saw an opportunity for a great shot. Without mentioning anything to Jean, I stopped and took out my camera, trying to get everything ready before she went over the top of the ridge. When she neared the top, I snapped away.
