Two months earlier I'd kayaked to this spot on Kiva Beach and realized it had a great view of Mt. Tallac. Unfortunately, I only had my compact camera with me. Later that afternoon, I had my SLR, but the afternoon lighting was atrocious, hiding all details of the mountain. I knew I had to come back for a sunrise picture. So there I was two months later, standing in the freezing cold, waiting for the sun to rise to take this picture.
