It was noticeably warmer overnight, and nice and sunny as we packed in the morning.
Almost everyone in the campground was packing up to leave. If you want a sure-fire
way to get a site at a first-come, first-served campground, just arrive on a Sunday
morning.
We left camp around 9:50am, then drove west on Tioga Road through Yosemite. Traffic was
fine until we hit a massive backup at the left turn at the intersection with Highway 108.
The backup started over a mile from the stop sign and added about 25 minutes to our already
long drive. There were further delays along the way, creating a total of about 75 minutes of
delay to the trip back to the Bay Area. At least the stretch of highway past Tracy is now
3 lanes the whole way, which helped there. That was always a guaranteed backup but now it's
better.
Oh, I should mention that we stopped at this great fruit stand near Escalon on the way
back, but I don't remember the name. Across the street from Gico Valley Farms, a bit
closer to Highway 99. If I figure out the name, I'll add it here later.
