Ratings are my own ratings from 1-10 (10 is best). I rate hikes
based partly on views, partly on surroundings, and partly on difficulty.
I tend to like more difficult hikes. Easy, uninteresting hikes
will get the worst ratings from me. "Vertical" refers to vertical
feet of climbing for the hike, and is based on existing literature,
topographic maps, or my Avocet or Suunto altimeter.
Some abbreviations used:
- NP - National Park
- NF - National Forest
- NRA - National Recreation Area
- NSS - National Seashore
- NSA - National Scenic Area
- SP - State Park (California)
- CP - County Park (Santa Clara County, California)
- RP - Regional Park (East Bay Regional Park District, California)
- OSP - Open Space Preserve (Bay Area Midpeninsula District)
- NP(A) - National Park of Australia
