Sunday, after letting the kids go on an easter egg hunt at the rental house, we packed up
our things and made the long drive back to the Bay Area. It took about 7 hours, 20 minutes
of driving (plus another 1:45 of stopping for gas and food). Along the way, the GPS had
directed us to exit Interstate 15 north and take
Highway 91 west. Unfortunately that ramp was jam-packed, so we decided to keep going north
on 15, then cutting over on Highway 60. Thankfully this worked well, as we didn't really encounter
any traffic on the entire drive home.
Most of the drive was sunny, but as we approached the Bay Area, we were greeted by buckets
of rain. We also learned on the radio that a 7.2 magnitude earthquake had hit Baja California
this afternoon -- certainly strong enough to have been felt in the San Diego area.
