Friday night, we left the Bay Area at 7:30pm, but still ran into traffic -- mostly between
Davis and Sacramento, adding up to almost an hour of delays. We eventually reached
our South Lake Tahoe hotel just past midnight.
Geographically speaking, I would have preferred to stay
at Sorensens or Kirkwood, but they are both more expensive and harder to find lodging. There's
an abundance of more readily available lodging in South Lake Tahoe, though it does mean a bit more
driving and traffic to reach my preferred hiking destinations.
