Based on past consumption and the boys being a little older and bigger, I estimated we'd need
about 35,000 calories for the 5-day, 4-night trip. When we added everything together, it came out
to 36,519 calories, and I was too lazy to try to figure out how to cut the last 1500 calories.
As it turned out, I should have spent the effort.
Here's the list of food we had left after our trip:

So we had nearly 8000 calories and more then 4 pounds of food left over.
The dehydrated meals were a treat at the end of each day; the only problem with
them is their bulk. The sesame snaps had apparently previously melted and were
stuck together, making them hard to eat. Plus, I was the only one eating them, so
we had a ton left over. The kids gobbled up the Z bars, all 16 of them.
Nathan discovered he liked beef jerky, so he ended up eating most of it himself.

Once again, I brought way too much fuel. By the end of our trip, the fuel canisters still
weighed in at 420 grams (0.926 pounds). So I probably could have just brought one canister. But
I like to be on the safe side when it comes to fuel.

It was too hard to list everything itemized per each person, since we did last-minute shuffling
of items. I did do the final weigh-in, however, and 65 pounds was the most I ever carried,
and probably 5 pounds too much. Jean and Nathan complained about the weight, but Jared never did.
And Nathan still was generally fastest, even with a 14 pound pack. I felt slow and was slow,
laboring under my big pack. I'd like to point out that I was carrying more than the rest of my
family combined. That should change next year.
