Tahoe Trip (June 2018)

Day 3 of 4

Previous Day | Trip Home | Next Day

Saturday, June 30th
Castle Rock

We only had time for a short hike today, so we did something close: Castle Rock.

After the hike, we had dinner, then drove up the eastern shore in search of the Bonsai Rock. This is a picturesque rock south of Sand Harbor, with trees growing out of it. Unfortunately there was construction in this area and we could only park further south of the tree (uphill). From the roadway, we descended on a use trail steeply toward the shore, but were still far south of the tree. I could still see it in the distance. Nevertheless, this was a nice area for some pictures close to sunset.
