Vertical feet of climbing for a hike is based on existing literature, topographic maps,
or my altimeter watch. If you go up 100 feet, then down 100 feet, then up 100 feet again,
that counts as 200 feet of climbing.
Starting and maximum elevation values, when given, are based on my GPS readings on the trail.
These absolute readings may not always be completely accurate; at some point I will try to
replace them with values from literature and topographic maps. Relative readings (those
for amount of climbing) are probably more accurate.
