I woke up early to catch the 6:20am sunrise. I walked over to
Sunrise Point, where dozens of people had already set up their
tripods and were waiting for that moment... The sun rose slowly
over what I think is the Aquarius Plateau. Some people, arriving
too late to get a good spot on the railing, hiked partway down
the Queen's Garden trail amongst the hoodoos to get a better view.
Eventually the sun broke over the plateau and sent the shutters
clicking away, capturing the sun's rays on Thor's Hammer and the
rest of the Bryce Amphitheater.

After a nice breakfast buffet at the lodge, we hiked the Navajo and Peekaboo Trails.
After the hike we drove to Fairyland Point, but didn't see much
(and it was getting cold by this time). We stopped at the visitor
center, where we watched a brief 10-minute slide show about Bryce
(I nearly fell asleep). At least I found a bookmark describing
Walter's Wiggles.
Then it was back to the lodge for some rest, and then dinner.
The pork loin "Escalante" was pretty good.
I'd learned my lesson from the previous night, and it was raining
anyway, so I skipped my stargazing session.
