After breakfast, we decided to head down to the beach. There's a wooden staircase
between camps 148 and 149 which leads down to the beach. There's day use parking
here, but in the morning and evening you will probably have the beach mostly to
yourself. When we went, it was mostly empty except for a flock of geese that
looked at us longingly when my son was throwing rocks in the water, thinking he
was throwing them food.
After lunch we wanted to go on a short hike. The original plan was to hike to
Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake (which I'd done before). Unfortunately, at 1:30pm in
the afternoon, the parking lot was completely full, and cars were parked on the
side of the road for several hundred feet. There wasn't much option other than to
keep going. So, instead, we did a hike to Cascade Falls.
