Lake Agnes hike

It rained a bit overnight, but it was clear in the morning. At least when we first woke up. We were trying to get an early start to beat the rain. As it happened, it started to rain just as we left a little after 9am, heading up the road to Lake Louise to start a hike to Lake Agnes.

After the hike we stopped by the grocery store in Lake Louise village for some ice cream and supplies. Then we returned to camp. A man and his son from Oregon were camping nearby and saw us struggling with the wet wood and came over to help. Thankfully, the wind was blowing in a different direction today so all the smoke we created didn't blow into the next campsite tonight. We appreciated the help, and we finally were able to get our fire started. In the future we'll know to cover our firewood!

As I walked to the water faucet to fill our containers, a woman camping near us asked if we were at Lake Agnes today. She had been there, too, and had recognized us (more likely our kids), although we hadn't seen her. She said lots of people from the campground were at Lake Agnes today. It's a popular hike. It was probably made more popular by the fact that it had rained heavily the past couple days so today's weather was the best in recent days. Sure, it had rained a little, but it wasn't too bad.
