It was another clear and sunny fall day today. I wasn't sure about what hike to do today.
I was considering a loop hike to some lakes starting past the Coldwater campground near Lake Mary.
That seemed perfect, except for one thing -- probably no fall colors. So instead we opted for the
relative unknown (to us) of
McGee Canyon, just a little south of Convict Lake, which we'd hiked yesterday.
After the hike we returned to Tamarack Lodge, where we took a little afternoon stroll along the
shores of Twin Lakes. There we saw ducks, boats, fishermen, even a wedding party taking pictures
on the bridge between the lakes. But no fall colors to speak of. There's also a campground
here, and there were a few people camping - but only in RV's. I didn't see anyone willing to
brave the cold in a tent here.
