We woke up late and then proceeded to get lost on our drive to the trailhead
for today's hike, partly because there's more than one Boulder Lake
in the Trinity Alps, and they're far apart. But eventually we got
there and started the hike to
Boulder Lakes.
After the hike, we stopped by the KOA store to pick up a few groceries and
some ice cream. Then back to camp, where we found we had new neighbors.
About half the camp is reservable (and it was fully booked for the weekend),
and the other half is first-come, first-served. Our first neighbors
had only stayed one night, to be replaced by a family with two kids
younger and noisier than our own. Thankfully they quieted down for the most part
after quiet hours (10pm).
