Portland Trip (August 2018)

Day 5 of 7

Previous Day | Trip Home | Next Day

Tuesday, August 7th
Ecola State Park

Originally, I was thinking of going to Mount St. Helens today. But it was going to be another hot day, and I knew any hike we did there would probably be exposed to the hot sun the entire time. So we decided to go to the coast again, instead.

We drove out to the coast to hike the Clatsop Loop Trail in Ecola State Park.

After the hike, we stopped at the Ecola Point parking area. I took the short walk on the paved path to an overlook looking south toward Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. Then we drove back to Portland, where we had no problem getting a table at 9pm at Screen Door. Highly recommended southern food if you can come late or don't mind waiting if you arrive earlier.
