Today we visited the Bishop Creek area. On South Lake Road on the way to the trailhead, we witnessed some of the best fall colors we've seen in the area. It was still 10am, and the yellow leaves were backlit in spectacular fashion. The yellows were deeper and the whole canyon was lit up with leaves. Many cars were stopped by the side of the road as people stopped to enjoy the spectacle. We wanted to get our hike started, though, so we kept going (even though I knew it wouldn't be as good on the way back). I wanted to get to South Lake first because I was a little worried about parking there, but it turns out I needn't have been.
We continued on up the road, past Parcher's Resort, then reached South Lake and hiked to Treasure Lakes.
After the hike, we drove back down South Lake Road and stopped a couple times to take pictures. Much of it was now in shade (it was about 4pm now), but there were still some good spots to take pictures.

Then we headed up toward Lake Sabrina. We saw some nice color along the road before Aspendell (though we didn't stop there). At Lake Sabrina, there was nice color on the opposite shore.

We then returned down the highway to Bishop, where we were saddened to discover that the Mountain Light gallery is no longer there. In fact it closed two years ago (October 2017), not too long after we had visited it in August that year.
