Jennie and I left the Bay Area around 9am, encountering little
traffic on our way to Yosemite. In 3 1/2 hours we'd reached the
park entrance, and Tuolumne Meadows before 2pm. We set up our
tents and rested for a bit before embarking on a very leisurely
stroll to Soda Springs.
Afterwards we settled down to a nice dinner of shrimp rolls. While
it was yummy, it wasn't all that filling and I was searching for
sweets to satisfy me afterwards. I tried a bite of Kendal mint
cake for the first time. Blah.

The sun was setting, and we took the opportunity to walk over
to the bridge near Lembert Dome, where some people were fly fishing
in the river below. The fish were literally jumping out of the
water! The sky was covered with amazing pink clouds. Mounts Dana
and Gibbs stood out to the east. I took as many photographs as
I could think to take. The only downside was the mosquitoes which
buzzed around us the whole time.

Back at the campsite, our neighbors were talking about climbing
routes, looking over their equipment, and getting ready for the
next day's climb. Unfortunately, because of the slope of the ground,
we had to put our tents close to their site.
