We checked out of our cabin at Sorensen's before heading out for a hike. I'd toyed with the idea
of hiking to yet another lake named Granite Lake (there are at least 3 in the Tahoe/Kirkwood area,
and I've done two of them now), but decided in favor of something else. We made the
slightly less than half hour drive west along Highway 88 to hike to
Shealor Lake.
After the hike, we drove back to the Bay Area. The only downside of driving on Highway 88 is
that there's a very long stretch without a passing lane. At one point there was a line of 15
cars behind a slow car in front. But, eventually, we made it back to the Bay Area after
about 3 - 3 1/2 hours of driving from the Shealor Lake trailhead.
