Saturday morning, we walked over to the dining area for breakfast, then returned to the
cabin to prep for our hike. We then took the free shuttle bus to stop number 17 to hike
to
Mirror Lake.
After the hike we returned to the Curry Village gift shop for some post-hike ice cream
(yes, even if there's snow outside the boys want ice cream).
After a nap, we returned to the dining area where there was a Ski Buffet dinner ($18 for
adults, $8.75 for kids aged 4 and over). There were a lot more people here tonight than
at the pizza restaurant the night before. There was even a live band playing. The food
was ok, and there were four different pies to choose from for dessert.
I'll have to admit that every time I visit Yosemite Valley, I get depressed. It just
seems so over-developed. It's a mini-city situated inside a national park. I much prefer
the relative solitude of Sequoia National Park (if only the drive weren't so long).
